In 1859, Abraham Lincoln was on a speaking tour in Wisconsin and stayed at the residence of William Tallman, a Janesville attorney.

The Tallman House is a 26-room Italianate villa-style mansion. The Rock County (Wis.) Historical Society manages the site and decorates the home with Christmas decorations that reflected the Tallmans’ lifestyle.
