Blue Birdie
Panther Creek Country Club, 3001 Panther Creek Drive, has a lovely, picturesque golf course - and the clubhouse isn't bad, either. Let's face it, the course is a little challenging and it can be frustrating.
But everyone can mark a birdie on their card when they drop by the clubhouse and order a Blue Birdie. The star of this drink is Absolut Berri Acai, which combines blueberry, acai and pomegranate.
You may have to make a run to the grocery store before you start, since you absolutely must have blue sugar - it's in the baking ingredients aisle - and blueberries. Bree Robertson, dining room manager, suggests using a martini glass for sipping. But, if you've had a really bad day on the course and this will be your lone birdie, go ahead and put it in a rocks glass.
How to make it:
You need either an 8-ounce martini glass or a rocks glass. Wet the rim of the glass and press gently into the blue sugar.
In a shaker with ice combine:
Pour into glass and garnish by tossing in a couple of blueberries. If it's warm and you want to get really fancy, freeze the blueberries for a little while and then pop them in. They'll dance around, leaving a bubble trail.
