Raspberry Lemon Shake-up
For an interesting take on lemonade, stop by the Lake Pointe Grill, 1386 Toronto Road, and order a Raspberry Lemon Shake-up.
It's like lemonade with an electric shock. It has liquor, liqueur and at least one serving of fruit if you eat the lemon-wedge garnish.
How to make it:
Fill a shaker halfway with ice and get out an 8-ounce martini glass.
In the shaker, combine:
Shake. Take a lemon wedge and run it around the rim of the martini glass and sugar the rim. Pour in the drink and then put in a splash of Razzmatazz liqueur. The Chambord-like liqueur will float to the bottom. Garnish with a lemon wedge.
White Chocolate Martini
As long as you're at the Lake Pointe Grill having a pizza from the wood-burning oven, how about a tasty white chocolate martini for dessert? Sinfully rich, made with Godiva liqueur, vanilla vodka and Bailey's Irish Cream, it will surely take you to your happy place.
We're not too sure about the chocolate-covered olive, but we'll go along with it because mixologist Adam Hull says it's getting rave reviews.
How to make it:
Get a shaker and an 8-ounce martini glass.
In the shaker with ice, mix:
Shake. Take a squirt bottle of chocolate syrup and swirl some along the sides of the martini glass. (Here's a hint - hold the chocolate still and swirl the glass.)
Pour the martini through the strainer to slow down the liquid so you don't wash the swirls down.Garnish with a chocolate-covered olive. Or, if you are so inclined, skewer a couple of truffles and garnish with those.
